I joined the London Insurance Market in 1977 and since then it has given me a wonderful and enjoyable career. Having now passed my 30th year in the industry I have become determined to put something back into it, so have founded Ask and Consult Limited. My career path has taken me through many years as a front-line claims practitioner then as the founder of Davies Managed Systems (DMS) a claims management company, through to working at Axis International amongst highly qualified technically led Loss Adjusters. The blend of this has brought me to a point where I have a wide and adaptable set of skills to assist the insurance community in many areas, which hopefully this website has adequetly described.

During my time Lloyd's I was proud to be elected as a founder member of the NMA (as was, now LMA) claims committee. That led to me serving as a founder member of the Lloyd’s Catastrophe Group; chairing a sub-group and the C.A.S.S. Steering Group. All three that remain relevant today and continue to thrive. Subsequently whilst running DMS I became a frequent public speaker about claims management issues in the UK.

Over the years I have become recognised as having a proven ability to create complex company-wide operations and systems. To create and manage company image and brand; I often work with the trade press and media. I am team oriented and always look forward to the challenge of helping companies bring out the the best in themselves and to nurture staff at all levels.

  • 20 years as a non-marine claims professional 
  • Worked in almost every class of Non-Marine Insurance and Reinsurance 
  • Worked in teams developing many new and innovative insurance products 
  • Apponted to the lloyd's Non-Marine Association (now LMA) Claims Committee
  • Appointed to Lloyd's Catastrophe Claims Group
  • Member of Lloyd's CASS Steering Group (Now the ECF Group)
  • Deputy Chairman of NMA Personal Lines Claims Committee
  • Member of LMA Bulk Purchasing Group
  • Led group that delivered one of the first ISO Approved Quality Management Systems for a Non-Marine Syndicate
  • Has worked since 1990 on the front line of business management in areas as diverse as Business Processing, Management Reporting, Corporate Governance, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology
  • Founder of Davies Managed Systems; now a major provider of claims management services to the UK insurance market 
  • Worked extensively in client services such as product development and branding, reputational issues and press relations 
  • Has most recently worked with Axis International, a leading International Loss Adjuster in developing their brand, enhancing reputation and creating new operational structure
